Beautiful results start with healthy teeth and gums. Before any cosmetic work, we treat decay and gum inflammation, check your bite and talk about your goals. Then we choose the least invasive option that will get you there. Sometimes whitening and a little bonding do more than you’d expect — and save you money and tooth structure.
Planning your smile makeover
For bigger changes, we plan in stages: whiten first, then match bonding, veneers or crowns to your new shade. You’ll see your options, understand the trade-offs and get a written estimate before we begin.
Cost and financing
Cosmetic procedures are often not covered by insurance, but treatment that also fixes a dental problem — like a cracked tooth or failing filling — may be partly covered. We’ll check your benefits, and financing can spread the cost into monthly payments. Insurance & financing.
Veneers or crowns?
Veneers cover only the front surface of a tooth and are used mainly to change color, shape and small alignment issues on healthy teeth. Crowns cover the whole tooth and are the better choice when a tooth is heavily filled, cracked or weak. Sometimes the best smile makeover uses both.
Can veneers be whitened?
No — porcelain and composite don’t respond to whitening gel. That’s why we whiten natural teeth first and then match veneers or bonding to your new shade.

Porcelain veneers usually require removing a thin layer of enamel, which is permanent. That’s why we discuss bonding and other options first.
How long does bonding last?
Several years, depending on your bite and habits. It can be touched up or repaired.
Can you fix a chipped front tooth in one visit?
Often, yes, with composite bonding.
Is cosmetic dentistry covered by insurance?
Purely cosmetic work usually isn’t, but restorations that also fix a dental problem may be partially covered. We’ll check for you.
How much do veneers cost?
It depends on the number of teeth and whether you choose composite or porcelain. We give you a written estimate at your consultation, and financing is available.
Veneers vs. crowns — what’s the difference?
Veneers cover the front of a healthy tooth; crowns cover the entire tooth and add strength. We recommend the most conservative option that meets your goals.
Does Medicaid cover cosmetic dentistry?
No. Medicaid doesn’t cover cosmetic treatment, though it may cover related dental problems. Ask about financing for cosmetic work.
