Check in
Fill out a few short forms (health history, insurance). Arriving about 10 minutes early helps.
Screening & X-rays
Our hygienist screens your gums, takes X-rays and intraoral photos, and checks for signs of oral cancer.
Exam with Dr. B
Dr. B reviews everything with you on screen and answers your questions.
Your plan
You get a written plan with costs and insurance estimates. When possible, we start treatment the same day.

Getting ready for your appointment
Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card (if you have one) and a list of the medications and supplements you take. If you have recent X-rays from another dentist, we can request them so you don’t need new ones sooner than necessary.
During the oral cancer screening, if we notice any tissue that looks unusual, we may recommend a quick, painless brush biopsy so a lab can check it. It’s precautionary and simple, and it’s part of doing a thorough first exam.
Insurance and payment
We accept Florida Medicaid, most PPO dental plans and most Medicare Advantage plans, and we file dental claims for you. We accept major credit cards, personal checks, money orders and cash, and our team can walk you through financing options. See insurance & financing for the plans we commonly accept.
Holistic preferences
Tell us if you’d like fluoride-free cleanings, BPA-free composite, or if you have old silver fillings you’re thinking about replacing. We’ll make a note in your chart and plan around it. Learn about our holistic approach.

Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for the $88 new patient special?
The special is for new patients at All Smiles General Dentistry II. It covers a comprehensive exam, full-mouth X-rays and a cleaning. If your exam shows you need a different type of cleaning or other treatment, we’ll explain why and give you the cost before we do anything.
I have insurance. Should I use the special or my plan?
Most PPO plans cover exams, X-rays and cleanings at or near 100%. Call us with your member ID and we’ll check which option costs you less.
How long is the first appointment?
Plan on about 90 minutes. That gives us time for your forms, X-rays, photos, the cleaning and an unhurried conversation with Dr. B.
Can I get treatment on the same day?
Often, yes. If you need a filling or other treatment and there’s time in the schedule, we can usually start that day so you don’t have to come back.
